The downfall of Red Bull Racing has been quite evident in recent months, and what a coincidence for Christian Horner and Co. to suffer such a shocking decline barely weeks after Adrian Newey announced his departure. This raises several other questions one of which is gaining a lot of attention; was Newey indeed the sole reason behind Red Bull’s impeccable success story of this decade? If it is, this is undeniably huge news for billionaire and Aston Martin owner, Lawrence Stroll.
The Canadian kingpin bought the leading British motorsport outfit with an incredible vision, to become the most dominant Formula 1 outfit on the grid. However, thus far, Stroll’s journey has been rather inconsistent with dramatic surges and drops in performance. Similarly, last year, Stroll and Co. scripted one of the best starts to a campaign; Fernando Alonso went on a rather unexpected podium spree. But, the high-octane stint was cut short by poor car development.

Despite numerous upgrades and countless recruitments in the background, Aston Martin failed to score podiums more frequently in the second half of 2023. However, the sun is all set to shine on the Silverstone outfit soon, thanks to Adrian Newey’s arrival. The profound aerodynamicist will move to Aston Martin as early as next year and the official announcement will take place sooner than expected.
When will Adrian Newey move to Aston Martin?
According to Motorsport, Aston Martin will officially unveil their newest and arguably the most successful signing next race weekend at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Newey’s contract with Red Bull will expire during the first quarter of 2025. The Briton is known for his expertise in the aero department, having guided his team to a whopping 12 constructors’ titles and 13 drivers’ championship titles.
Red Bull has officially unveiled its first-ever road car — the RB17.
